Wendy Gathje Downing

Since I graduated, I went to College (ECU) for one year, partied too much and moved back home. I got pregnant with baby #1 and 3 years later met a man and married him, 5 years and two more kids later we divorced (the marriage sucked) the kids were awesome. Then about 5 years after that I met the love of my life, Mike Downing who grew up in Springfield, VA and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. We have been together ever since, he is an awesome husband and even better father to my three wonderful girls. I have five grand kids Aden, Kiera, Declan, Khloe and Lachlyn and I would like to add that we have another due in May, they are so awesome, being a grand parent is amazing and I spend as much time as possible with them. Life is great. It has thrown me a lot of curve balls but I have been able to hit all of them out of the park and make the best out of everything. Mike and I enjoy riding around on our new Harley Trike and spending time with the families on the weekends. We spent a lot of time at the American Legion, Mike is a Marine Veteran and I love that he is so proud of his service to our Country.

Not to much, I wasn't extremely popular except for playing softball, I had a few great friends, but I guess the most memorable was senior year, Rick Henry and I had a blast and I will never forget it! I wouldn't go back to High School if I ever got another chance because being a wife and mother has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done, but at least the High School Years were positive. I made a lot of friends and didn't have too many enemies.
