School Story:
School Story?
Great memories are the football games...cold autumn nights...and Horse. THere is something about that song, that really got the spirit flowing. It's on Itunes now. Called "The Horse" and I enjoy hearing it now and again.
I remember meeting this adorable blonde early my freshman year, we always had a thing for each other off and on for the next three years, but couldn't stand each other! He was way too bossy! Robert Hunter...I am glad you are one of my best friends to this day! You are one of the most motivating people I know (but still bossy, I just ignore you now, haha)! Love ya!
The Homecoming float with the giant Viking! That thing was freaking huge.
Skipping school and going to the lake to party. Skipping school and having Mr. Raines come hunt me down (I couldn't be found) but he was onto me and Paul when he knew we were boyfriend girlfriend and didn't show up for school. He kept calling my house and I said "Paul, we cannot stay here, he will come here! We have to leave!"
Cheering was always fun with this spirited class. Class of 84 always won the spirit contests at the Pep Rallies, even our Freshman year! I have fond memories of Cheerleading practices, building pyramids...and lots of laughs as they collapsed and the creative names we had i.e. "The Throw Up Stunt"!
I remember Timmy Johnson laughing at me alot and his laugh made me laugh! I miss him! Most of the time he was laughing at how naive I was.
Billy James, Andy Mueck, Chris Jones, me, Timmy Johnson and Teresa Baker in American Studies together. WE had Mr. Bailey, but he couldn't pronouce the letter "V". Timmy would raise his hand and be like "Mr. Bailey, are you going to buy some Fibe Alibe and drink it this weekend?" (Remember the drink, Five Alive...kinda like OJ). And one Time, Billy James being Moved (MOBED) to the front of the class cause we couldn't quit laughing. He wrote us a note using lots of words with V's in them, and replaced them all with "B's" and passing the note back...and the rest of us were in the back laughing hysterically...so we all got split up for about a week. Poor ol Mr. Bailey, because Timmy and Billy were relentless! All I know is Andy was the smartest one in that class and I was really glad he sat next to me! :)
I remember Grant Shiffert and his Pinto (Vega), whatever that car was with no heat on some interesting...adventures. That's what we'll call them. Our secret...right Grant? Dancing to The Romantics "That's What I Like About You".
I remember having a cast on my leg Senior year, but cheering anyway. Doing horse, without ever setting my foot down...and my toes being numb, because it was cold out and they were sticking out of the cast.
Steve Ross had this old beat up car. One time I asked for a ride home and it was hot outside. I said "Don't these windows roll down?" (Air didn't work either) and he tried the automatic windows, they didn't move and he goes "Not today!"
I remember in the summer, sneaking out alot just to hang with friends in the neighborhood and going for some late night swims at the pool...I'll leave it at that.
And, so many of my great great memories of growing up are with my neighborhood friends. Shelly Doneen, Sue Brooks, Tiffany Westover, Steve Ross, Steve Misencik, Chris Roth, Gary Johnston, Roger Ward, Mike Scharf, Barry Hobbs and the list goes on...such fun amazing memories.
I had a great time in high school. My parents later told me their motto was, when I was in 11th grade, "We only have to keep a lid on the volcano for one more year... and then she'll go off to college!"
Certain songs I hear are so high school:
Thriller, Beat it, Billie Jean, Startin Something, That's What I Like About you, Anything Air Supply...and there is more...but those are a few!
Anyway, that's all for now, I'll add more stories as I think of them!
